PLAN THE LIFE YOU'VE ALWAYS DREAMED OF

The only thing stopping you from living the life you've always dreamed of, is YOU.

Your past traumas, your current circumstances and your situation right now is not an excuse for you to continue on the path that you are on whereby you feel 'stuck' or 'empty'.

You have the ability and the power to take control and choose for yourself how you are going to become happier and more accountable in order to live the life you have always wanted.

In the previous blog posts, we spoke about "What is personal development and self-care and Why it was important to me and why it should also be important to you". We broke down ways to start the journey of self-discovery and to set a plan in motion. The reason why I set out to do overview posts like these are to first establish a good, solid foundation as to how to navigate to get to where you want to go in life. Every journey is different, and progress and success are not linear. You have to fight for yourself and give yourself a chance.

I have been ill with bronchitis for roughly two weeks now. I can finally say that I am on the road to recovery. It's been a period of mental warfare for me. I felt like quitting what I am doing right now because I thought my body was trying to warn me that I am taking on too much and my immune system is taking a hit. I have always been one to take on a lot and find success in the end if I push myself hard enough. However, that is not what defines success. You have to dig deep and be smart about how you operate. The joy is in the journey. Loving the process. Not sacrificing sleep for days and eating badly because you are fixated on achieving. No! The right way to success is being disciplined and effectively managing your time. Having a plan is essential and executing it in a way that inspires and evokes positive change will make all the difference in your life and to those around you.

So how does one plan the life they have always dreamed of?

  1. Be extremely honest with yourself - Your SWOT [strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats] analysis will come in handy here.

  2. Get healthy - you cannot do anything if you are constantly falling ill. You stunt your growth, and you won't progress in the time frames you set for yourself. Health is the most important gift you can have.

  3. Make mistakes - the greatest lessons come when you are trying and fail and learn.

  4. Keep pushing forward - do not quit on yourself. You cannot progress if you stall for too long or procrastinate.

  5. Read as much as you can - educate yourself and expand your mind

  6. Make time for yourself - take care of you especially if you are the one who is always taking care of others

  7. Keep checking in on your mental wellbeing

  8. Save money - emergencies and unexpected bills do pop up

  9. Get a side hustle - start small

  10. Ensure your living environment is clutter free

  11. Stick to a routine

  12. Spend time with your loved ones & do something nice for someone

  13. Do not self-sabotage. Overcome your doubt and fears

This is your life. Make it count. Don't just exist darling - LIVE. Live abundantly, live boldly, live proudly. Work hard and enjoy your life! Do what needs to be done and just go for it. It is really up to you at the end of the day. Do not sit in complacency and laziness. Do not give up on your hopes and dreams. You have to go out there and create opportunities for yourself and grind until you make it. What is the alternative?! Life is passing you by - so why wouldn't you want to make a difference for yourself and those around you?! Don't live with regrets. Try, fail, make mistakes, learn your lessons and move on with it. Dream big and allow your goals to scare you. You will expand and build character when you are getting out of your comfort zone.
